Year 5 were taken on a magic carpet ride during the traditional Arabian folktale ‘Ali Baba and the 4 Thieves’ at the Sitara theatre company. With interactive theatre plus a dancing donkey, puppets and masks, music and madness, we enjoyed an unforgettable experience ! The children read the story of Ali Baba and then predicted how the playwright would approach various scenes in the play and discussed their predictions in the post-show talk. Pupils also developed their listening skills and a love of storytelling and literacy in general.
