Malvern College Hong Kong opened in August 2018 and currently has 640 pupils aged 5 years to 13 years in Years 1 to 10. The school’s population will rise to 1200 places when full, with students aged 5 years to 18 years in Years 1 to 13. Malvern College Hong Kong is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme and is currently pursuing authorisation to be an IB World School. The majority of students have an international background reflecting this vibrant international city as a hub of Asia.
Malvern College Hong Kong is located near the Science Park in the New Territories, yet with easy access by both road and rail from all areas around Hong Kong.
With the added attraction of proximity to the Chinese University of Hong Kong as well as The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), the area provides an excellent cultural and academic environment for teaching and learning.
Malvern College Hong Kong places equal emphasis on the personal and academic development of the individual student, combining a strong focus on Mathematics and Science with a wide-ranging programme of co-curricular activities. The school benefits from its unique location by offering experiential learning through Forest School activities and outdoor pursuit opportunities. Assigning students to houses helps foster team spirit and enhance students’ sense of belonging, helping bring the benefits of a boarding school environment in the UK to an international day school setting in Asia.
Malvern College Hong Kong has a scholarship and bursary programme for students from socially underprivileged and ethnic minority backgrounds with outstanding academic ability or particular talent in music, sport, art or drama, ensuring high-quality international education is accessible to students from a variety of cultural and family backgrounds.
The school is managed by Malvern College’s Asia Pacific partner, Babylon Education. The Founding Head of Malvern College Hong Kong, Dr Robin Lister, took up a position in Hong Kong in September 2017. Dr Lister was previously Senior Deputy Head at Malvern College UK.
