Over the Last 2 weekends the Malvern College under 11 BSME teams have been preparing for their BSME sports trip to Dubai which starts on the 11th March. The students have played over the 2 weekends boys and girls football, girls netball and boys basketball. These events were hosted at Modern English School (MES) and New Cairo British International School (NCBIS).
On Saturday 8th February MCE the under 11 BSME squad ventured to the Modern English School, (MES) to compete in boys football and girls netball.
Both teams played for the first time with the girls playing their first ever netball match at the under 11 age group. This was an amazing feat especially as they have only been training for netball for 2 weeks. The day was great for both teams and coaches using the opportunity to try players in different positions and formations.
On Friday 14th February the teams travelled to NCBIS to compete in boys basketball and girls football. The boys played some great basketball and came up against some strong teams. The boys played 4 games, lost 2, drew 1 and won 1, to finish a very creditable 2nd place. The girls football was played in great spirit by all the teams involved. MCE played the whole time with smiles on their faces, played with determination, commitment and a desire to work for each other. Even though the end results did not always go MCE’s way the scores were very close and the team took many positives out of each match.
The pupils represented themselves and the College admirably and worked hard during every game, meaning the preparation for the BSME games is going well.
Coaches, Mr Wood, Mr Gale and Miss Mcnicol are very proud of the pupils and are looking forward to showcasing the squads talents at the Under BSME games in Dubai.
