It was a pleasure to host our guests from Malvern College UK on Monday, including Antony Clark, Headmaster, as part of our termly Board of Management meeting. Everyone was delighted by the progress that has been made at the College since their last visit, including the opening of our new Theatre. We are so fortunate to have this special relationship with Malvern College UK to be able to work in partnership to continue to develop MCE. It has been nearly 12 months since Antony’s last visit and he said that MCE “feels as though it has been open for 5 […]

GAP STUDENTS Academic Year 2017/2018 I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity here at Malvern College Egypt, working in Cairo was not something I had ever considered doing for my gap year but when the opportunity arose, it grabbed my interest quickly. I hope to get involved in many different aspects of College life including helping out in the PE department as well as assisting during a range of academic lessons. Rugby is something that I am very passionate about, representing my school nationally in the 1stXV team playing in the position of Flanker. As someone who took […]
Headmaster’s Farewell 2017/18 Thursday 21st December marked not only the end of term, but also the last day for our founding Headmaster, Mr. Duncan Grice. As the first ever employee of MCE Mr. Grice made an outstanding contribution towards shaping life at the College right from the very start of the venture with Malvern College’s first ever school in the region. Duncan, his wife Dessy and their three daughters will be thoroughly missed by the whole MCE community. From all of us here at Malvern College Egypt, thank you Mr. Grice for all your hard work and good luck for the […]
On Monday 3rd December, we held a friendly competition between Foster and Lewis House, to see which House could raise the most money for their charity through selling home-baked items. The Bake Sale was very well supported, with lots of delicious treats on offer. The Pupil Leadership Teams in both Primary and Secondary took responsibility for selling the items and did a wonderful job. Thank you to all the parents, staff and pupils who supported this event.
Poetry Week came to a close last Thursday with a brilliant assembly in which one pupil from every class from Years 2-6 recited a poem. There were some fantastic poems and we were very impressed by the talents of all participants.
After learning all about shapes and colours, the Nursery children took part in a teddy bear picnic on Thursday 15th November. The classrooms were filled with teddy bears the children had brought from home and everyone was given the opportunity to dress up in patterned pyjamas. The children, teachers, and teddy bears all sat down outside, compared different patterns, and shared a selection of treats.
We were delighted to have prospective families attend an open day at the College. Alongside taking a tour in our campus, the prospective families had the chance to ask the questions that they had in mind regarding our College.
Trophy Presentation 2018/19 In our Primary Assembly, the trophies for the Football Tournament and Swim Gala were officially presented to the winning House Captains. Miss Phillips, as Head of House for Foster, handed over the Swim Gala trophy. Mr. Stewart and Mr. Watt who share the Head of House role for Lewis, gave the Football Trophy to their Captains. Well done to Foster and Lewis, let’s all wish Elgar and Sanger the best of luck in our forthcoming House events.
Sunday 18th (Primary) and Monday 19th (Secondary) saw our annual Inter-House swimming galas, held here at Malvern College Egypt. All of the staff, pupils and parents were out to show their full support, cheering as loud as they could, contributing to a fantastic atmosphere. pupils had been working incredibly hard in the build up to this event, training for a number of weeks for their individual events. The Primary event saw the Foster house victorious, with Lewis coming in at first place for Secondary School. We would like to thank all of the staff, pupils and parents for their wonderful […]
Year 10 & Year 11, along with parents, attended the International A Level vs. IB Diploma Programme presentation by Mrs Burnett, Head of Sixth Form and Mrs Maher, IBDP Coordinator. The differences between the qualifications were laid out and both students and parents developed a clearer understanding of the two programmes.
The final matches of the Primary Inter-House Football Tournament were very exciting. In particular, the Year 5 and 6 match had us all feeling very tense, as it went to penalties! In both the Year ¾ and 5/6 tournaments, Lewis were the winners. Congratulations to Lewis House and well played by all the other teams.
