International Day 2018 This weekend Malvern College Egypt hosted the annual International day celebration. Some of the highlights of the day included songs and gymnastic demonstrations from our own MCE students, as well as performances from African Hope, the Cairo Symphony group and also some talented parents joining in too. Aside from the aim of the event being to celebrate the schools’ internationalism, it also allowed us to raise significant funds for the student supported House charities, greatly exceeding the money that was raised last year. Lewis House Dress up Day Another spectacular week ended with a wonderful array of colours for our Lewis House ‘Carnival’ non-uniform day. Although the yellow colours of Lewis were dominating the day it was great to see how many students expressed their carnival spirit from wearing bright clown wigs to extravagant face paints.

As part of our “People Who Help Us” topic in the Early Years, students enjoyed a visit from the Cairo Traffic Police. They had a talk on road safety but the highlight of the day for the children had to be when they were let loose to drive mini cars on our blue basketball court which had been transformed into a series of roads, pathways and junctions. The day provided the children with some very valuable life skills on how to stay safe, both as passengers and pedestrians, and their enthusiasm was clear to see.
