Prefect Investiture Ceremony On Thursday 11th October Mr Phillip Hunter, Head of Primary School, kindly welcomed children, parents, and special guests into the Theatre for the Primary School Prefect Investiture. All were treated to lovely piano playing by Lilya Sidky and several pieces from the Year Four Choir. Head Boy and Head Girl, Prefect and House Captains were then presented to the College.
Cambridge Assessment International professional Development Training It was an honor to host Cambridge Assessment International Education teacher training at MCE. Teachers from across Cairo and Middle East attended a range of professional development courses.

Gap Students from the UK! Academic Year 2018/2019 Looking back to five years ago, I was a nervous new student who was about to start her adventure through GCSE’s and A levels at Malvern College. After completing that wonderful adventure, I could not be happier to have been given this opportunity to work as a ‘Gappy’ at Malvern College Egypt. KENKEN Maths Challenge On Saturday 6th October pupils from Malvern College Egypt participated in the National Finals of the KenKen Challenge. They were competing against children from all Egypt to earn a place at the Middle East Finals to be held in the UAE in November. We are still awaiting the results of this experience but we, as a College, are proud of their achievements so far. Well done to all competitors.

Reception and Year 1 Assembly This week we gave certificates to children who had achieved more than 20 of the 50 things to do before you are 11 ¾ years old during the summer holiday activities set by MCE.
Trophy Presentation 2018/19 In our Primary Assembly, the trophies for the Football Tournament and Swim Gala were officially presented to the winning House Captains. Miss Phillips, as Head of House for Foster, handed over the Swim Gala trophy. Mr. Stewart and Mr. Watt who share the Head of House role for Lewis, gave the Football Trophy to their Captains. Well done to Foster and Lewis, let’s all wish Elgar and Sanger the best of luck in our forthcoming House events.
Inter-house swimming competition 2018/19 Sunday 18th (Primary) and Monday 19th (Secondary) saw our annual Inter-House swimming galas, held here at Malvern College Egypt. All of the staff, pupils and parents were out to show their full support, cheering as loud as they could, contributing to a fantastic atmosphere. pupils had been working incredibly hard in the build up to this event, training for a number of weeks for their individual events. backpack initiative 2018/19 We have had the first child within Early Years to bring in a filled backpack for our backpack initiative. The backpack contained all of the items which we have requested, 2 hygiene items, 2 pieces of stationery, 2 toys and a WOW item. The backpack was also clearly labelled for a girl between 4 and 7 years of age. Thank you to all the families who have provided backpacks so far. Please keep them coming into school! Year 10 & Year 11, along with parents, attended the International A Level vs. IB Diploma Programme presentation by Mrs Burnett, Head of Sixth Form and Mrs Maher, IBDP Coordinator. The differences between the qualifications were laid out and both students and parents developed a clearer understanding of the two programmes.
The final matches of the Primary Inter-House Football Tournament were very exciting. In particular, the Year 5 and 6 match had us all feeling very tense, as it went to penalties! In both the Year ¾ and 5/6 tournaments, Lewis were the winners. Congratulations to Lewis House and well played by all the other teams.
Darb1718 trip 2018/19 The Year 5 children visited Darb 1718 to experience a creative day as part of their introduction to the topic of Ancient Greeks. The children learned about the process of how clay is used to create pottery; they made their own bowls, decorated plates and even experienced time on a potter’s wheel.
