Year 10 & Year 11, along with parents, attended the International A Level vs. IB Diploma Programme presentation by Mrs Burnett, Head of Sixth Form and Mrs Maher, IBDP Coordinator. The differences between the qualifications were laid out and both students and parents developed a clearer understanding of the two programmes.
The final matches of the Primary Inter-House Football Tournament were very exciting. In particular, the Year 5 and 6 match had us all feeling very tense, as it went to penalties! In both the Year ¾ and 5/6 tournaments, Lewis were the winners. Congratulations to Lewis House and well played by all the other teams.
Darb1718 trip 2018/19 The Year 5 children visited Darb 1718 to experience a creative day as part of their introduction to the topic of Ancient Greeks. The children learned about the process of how clay is used to create pottery; they made their own bowls, decorated plates and even experienced time on a potter’s wheel.
Inter-house football tournament 2018/19 Primary School House Football – on the 12th of November, matches were both won by Lewis. Well done to them and well played by both teams. This now completes the first stage of our tournament. On Tuesday the third place finals will be played, and the ultimate final takes place on Wednesday. Good luck to all House teams!
CAC Swimming Competition 2018/19 CAC hosted a wonderful Swimming competition. MCE were great swimmers whom were also admired for their sportsmanship. Our pupils achieved 2nd and 3rd place in many events. MCE’s pupils won 40 medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze) in total. A fantastic achievement.
Remembrance Sunday marks an important date in MCE’s calendar. 2018 is a particularly poignant year as it also marks 100 years since the end of WW1. MCE Marked the occasion with a ceremony that included a two minutes silence. #RemembranceDay #MCE #LestWeForget #RemembranceSunday

Inter-house football tournament Primary School House Football – Both matches between Lewis and Elgar were won by Elgar – congratulations to them and fantastic effort by Lewis. The Year 3 and 4 match score was 3-1. The Year 5 and 6 match score was 1-0.
Open Day 5th November We were delighted to have prospective parents attend an open day at the College. Alongside taking a tour in our campus, the prospective parents had the chance to ask the questions that they had in mind regarding our College.
BISC Swimming Competition 2018/19 BISC hosted a wonderful Swimming competition for our first swim meet of this academic year. MCE pupils were great swimmers and were admired for their sportsmanship earning the following medals: 2 Gold 3 Sliver 13 Bronze
The Malvern College School Council delivered shoeboxes filled with hygiene items, toys, educational stationery and treats to the children of Al Shaimaa Primary school on Tuesday 19th December. Our families had responded so generously when we launched our shoeboxes campaign this year, and we were overwhelmed to be able to share over 220 shoeboxes with children who are less fortunate than our Malvern College students. The children and staff at Al Shaimaa Primary school were so excited to meet with our staff and students and to receive the wonderful shoeboxes.
What a fabulous concert. A huge ‘thank you’ to all of our Malvern performers – it was a terrific accomplishment for you all. It is always wonderful to enjoy good music with family and friends, and our Christmas Concert created an atmosphere welcoming everyone into the Christmas spirit.
Thursday 21st December marked not only the end of term, but also the last day for our founding Headmaster, Mr. Duncan Grice. As the first ever employee of MCE Mr. Grice made an outstanding contribution towards shaping life at the College right from the very start of the venture with Malvern College’s first ever school in the region. Duncan, his wife Dessy and their three daughters will be thoroughly missed by the whole MCE community. Students in the Early Years and Primary School had lots of fun this week playing with Lego. Learning through Lego is a great way of developing a child’s creativity and fine motor skills as well as building on their problem-solving skills and working in a team.
We took 5 teams to participate in the Finals tournament at NCBIS. Teachers, teachers from other schools and parents have all commented on how well our students behaved and what good ambassadors for the school they were. The PE department is very proud of the efforts and contributions that students have made to sport at MCE.
The Dentists came to visit Nursery classes last week to help the children learn all about the importance of brushing our teeth correctly and eating a healthy balanced diet to make for a lifetime of good dental care.
